The next generation will not be able to write at all. They cannot see what they are writing and the result is commensurate. Young people today grasp writing implements as a gorilla might. That is why books on anatomy prefer artwork to photographs. As Andrew Coyne points out, electronic writing is not a replacement for handwriting any more than photography is a replacement for drawing. Overwhelmed with exuberance for electronic devices, the modern educationalists steadily have lost all sense of proportion.
